matthew williamson, my obsession.

Lookbook for the menswear spring/summer 2010 collection by Matthew Williamson.

oh no, no more.

What's the biggest complaint about pantyhose? Ripping, laddering, and running, of course. The textile innovators at INVISTA have produced a new blend of fibers to address this pesky complaint. This patent-pending technology has a high elasticity, high shape retention, and excellent durability. The pantyhose also do not ladder, allowing the product to last longer.

london calling.

I am convinced that everyone in London dresses better than anyone else. These street shots were taken during the recent London Fashion Week.

retailers tribute mcqueen.

With the sudden death of Alexander McQueen still stinging the fashion industry, retailers display institutional advertising by honoring the late designer.

iphone + fashion

We all know that there's an app for everything, and now Conde Nast publications is cashing in on the technology trend. Vogue magainze has released an application that allows viewers to shop directly from the magazine and purchase entire outfits from advertisements. According to WGSN, "The app can also be used to upload items from one's own wardrobe and sort them by designer brand, colour or trend, as identified in the current Vogue issue".

My brother sent me an email titled "To match your fur coat..." and attached this photograph. Obviously, he is amazing. I need this.

i'd rather have a ruff, than a ruffle dress.

The ruffle dress has appeared in retail stores for the past several months and has been recognized as a current trend. I am so over this.

chronicles of never.

I recently came across the label Chronicles of Never. Ebay suggested it to me. I did a little research and the label's clothing, shoes, and accessories convey a mood of dark and somber energy. I can imagine wearers of these pieces sitting in the corner of a pitch black room listening to noise from an old, scratchy record player. Chronicles of Never, here you are.

vivienne, you never get old.

marc jacobs turns to the past for inspiration.

Marc Jacobs debuted his A/W 2010/11 collection for an anticipatory crowd in New York and was received with glowing reviews. Jacobs, a fan favorite, is known for his fun, desirable, and sometimes eccentric garments. The designer took a simplistic approach to his recent collection, perhaps giving a nod to troubling economic times. His vintage-esque collection was tailored and refined. Jacobs included wool, cashmere, cable knits, velvet, furs and feathers into the garments and chose a gray color pallet highlighted by creams, browns, rusts, and yellows. Approximately sixty garments debuted; below are images from my favorite ensembles.
